Aftercare Kit for Lash Extensions: Review & Buy in Batumi

September 17, 2026 · 12 min

If you want your lash extensions to look fresh from day one to your next fill, your aftercare kit matters as much as the set itself. I’m Olga, a lash artist in Batumi. Our city is beautiful, but it’s also humid, salty, sunny, and busy - all of which can challenge lash retention. In this honest review I’ll show you exactly what I include in a complete lash aftercare kit, how to use each item, what to skip, and where to buy it in Batumi (including reserving a kit directly with me if you prefer a ready-made, tested set).

What I include in a complete lash aftercare kit

I’ve refined this kit over hundreds of clients and a lot of Batumi summers. Every item earns its place:

  • Oil-free lash shampoo: A gentle, foaming cleanser formulated for extensions. It removes sweat, salt, dust, sunscreen residue, and makeup without breaking down the adhesive.
  • Soft cleansing brush: A dense but gentle brush to work the foam between lashes and along the lash line. Fingers can’t reach properly; this brush can.
  • Rinse bottle (squeeze or dropper): Clean water flow helps rinse foam away fast, which is great after the beach or gym.
  • Lint-free wipes or cosmetic towels: Regular cotton pads shed fibers that snag on fans. Lint-free is a small upgrade with a big payoff.
  • Disposable spoolies: For daily fluffing and separating. Keep one in your bag and one by your sink.
  • Oil-free makeup remover (optional): For eyeliner or under-eye makeup. Micellar water that’s specifically oil-free works well; always check the label.
  • Mini fan or soft towel for drying: Airflow helps fans open back up after washing. If you don’t have a mini fan, a gentle pat and a few seconds of cool air (no heat) is fine.
  • Protective lash coating (optional): A light, water-based sealant can add slip and reduce friction from makeup or sweat. It’s not a miracle product, but used sparingly it helps some clients.
  • Travel pouch: If it’s not easy to carry, you won’t use it - especially on beach days or when sightseeing.

If you’re not sure how to pick each piece, I sell a pre-assembled kit in my studio that’s tuned for Batumi’s climate. You can also start with just shampoo, brush, and spoolies - that alone covers 80% of daily care.

Why proper aftercare matters more in Batumi

Humidity, the Black Sea, and summer heat can all affect your lash retention. Here’s why:

  • Humidity and sweat: Moisture carries oils and salt. Without regular washing, residue stays on the lash line and slowly weakens the bond.
  • Sea salt and pool chlorine: Both leave crystals on the lashes when they dry. If you don’t rinse them off quickly, fans get crunchy and close.
  • Sunscreen and skincare: Many face and eye products are oil-based or silicone-heavy. If they migrate onto your lash line (very common in heat), retention drops.
  • Wind and sand: Beach days are fun but gritty. A quick rinse plus a gentle brush prevents micro-tangles and buildup.

The solution is simple: cleanse more consistently and dry your lashes properly. A two-minute routine saves you a week of wear.

How to use the kit: my step-by-step routine

Here’s the method I teach every client. It’s quick, gentle, and designed for humid, beachy Batumi life.

Morning (60–90 seconds)

  1. Rinse: Splash cool to lukewarm water over your eyes or use your rinse bottle.
  2. Suds: Pump a small amount of oil-free lash shampoo onto the brush and lightly massage along the lash line and through the lengths. Tiny circles, no hard scrubbing.
  3. Rinse again: Make sure all foam is gone. Residue attracts dust.
  4. Dry: Pat around the eyes with a lint-free towel, then let lashes air dry or use a mini fan on cool.
  5. Fluff: Gently brush through from tips toward mid-lengths, not pressing into the roots.

Evening (2 minutes)

  1. Remove makeup first: If you wear eyeliner or shadow, use an oil-free remover or oil-free micellar water on a lint-free pad. Stay just above the lash line and avoid soaking the base.
  2. Cleanse: Repeat the morning shampoo and rinse steps.
  3. Dry and brush: As above. If you’re using a thin water-based coating, apply a very light layer now, focusing on the mids and tips.

After sea, pool, or gym

  • Rinse as soon as you can with fresh water (a quick shower or your rinse bottle).
  • Pat dry, then fan or air-dry and brush. Don’t let salt or chlorine sit and crystallize.

Note on new sets: With the adhesives I use, you can gently wash the area the same day after a few hours. Avoid heavy steam, hot saunas, or intense rubbing on day one.

Product reviews: what works (and what to skip) in this climate

These are category-level recommendations I’ve tested in Batumi conditions:

  • Lash shampoo: Foaming, oil-free, and fragrance-light is best. A pump that makes a dense foam helps you use less and rinse faster.
  • Cleansing brush: Choose one with soft, densely packed bristles and a short handle that won’t knock your cheekbone. Synthetic fibers dry faster in humidity.
  • Makeup remover: Oil-free micellar formulas are fine for the eye area above the lash line and under-eye. If you wear gel liners, remove with a pointed cotton swab and avoid touching the base of extensions.
  • Coatings/Sealants: Optional. They add slip and can reduce friction from makeup or sweat. Avoid anything that feels tacky or glossy - that’s usually too heavy.
  • Mini fan: Handy in summer. Cool air only. If you don’t have one, a few gentle blinks in front of a room fan works.

Skip these if you want your set to last:

  • Oil balms and waterproof eye makeup near the lash line. They’re great for long-wear looks, terrible for extensions.
  • Cotton pads and Q-tips directly on the lash line. Lint wraps around fans and frays them.
  • Mechanical lash curlers. Extensions are pre-curled; curlers crimp and break them.
  • Heavy eye creams on the upper lid at night. If you love them, apply sparingly and keep them away from the roots of your lashes.

Where to buy an aftercare kit in Batumi

You have a few easy options depending on your schedule:

  • Reserve my curated kit: Message me in advance and I’ll prepare a pouch with everything you need (shampoo, brush, rinse bottle, spoolies, lint-free wipes, optional sealant). It’s compact for travel and beach days.
  • Pick individual items in town: Major shopping areas like Batumi Mall and Metro City Mall usually have pharmacies and beauty shops where you can find oil-free lash shampoo or gentle foaming face washes, lint-free pads, and spoolies. Always check labels for “oil-free” and avoid strong fragrances.
  • Tourist tip: If your airline liquids bag is full, buy the shampoo here after you land. I keep travel sizes for this reason.
  • Delivery apps and local shops: Many local stores in Batumi offer same-day delivery for beauty basics. Search for “oil-free micellar” or “lash shampoo.” If you’re unsure, send me a photo of the product label and I’ll give you a quick yes/no.

Common mistakes I see (and quick fixes)

  • “I don’t wash them so they last longer.” Quick fix: Wash daily. Clean lashes hold better than oily ones.
  • Sleeping face-down: Try a silk pillowcase and start on your back. Even side sleepers see fewer bent fans.
  • Skipping the post-beach rinse: Keep a water bottle in your beach bag. Rinse, pat dry, brush - takes 30 seconds.
  • Using heavy balms near the eyes: Switch to oil-free formulas or apply creams away from the lash line.
  • Over-brushing: Gentle is enough. One or two light passes after drying - no sawing through the base.
  • Waiting 5–6 weeks for a fill: In Batumi’s summer, that’s too long. Aim for a realistic schedule (see below).

Fill timing in Batumi’s climate (and for travelers)

Retention varies by set, lifestyle, and skin type, but this is a practical guide I use with clients here:

  • Classic 1:1: Usually 3–4 weeks between fills if you cleanse daily and avoid heavy oils.
  • Light/standard volume: 2–3 weeks between fills, especially in peak humidity or if you swim often.
  • Mega volume: 2–3 weeks. The fans look amazing, but they collect more debris and need consistent cleansing.

Traveling through Batumi? Book your fill near the end of your stay so you travel home fresh. You can check my current lash extension prices and book your fill in advance - summer slots in Batumi go fast. If you’re unsure about timing, send me your travel dates and I’ll suggest a plan.

Beach-day mini checklist

  • Travel rinse bottle (fresh water)
  • Spoolie in a clean pouch
  • Lash-safe shampoo back at the hotel/apartment
  • Lint-free towel or tissues
  • Shaded spot for a quick air-dry

Extra tip: Choose a mineral sunscreen stick for the face and keep at least a finger-width away from the lash line. Reapply on the forehead and temples, but not directly over the roots of the lashes.

FAQs

- Can I swim in the Black Sea with lash extensions?

Yes. Rinse with fresh water as soon as you finish, pat dry, then brush. Don’t let salt sit and crystallize on the lashes. Do a proper shampoo cleanse later the same day.

- Is micellar water safe for removing eye makeup with extensions?

Use an oil-free micellar formula and keep it slightly above the lash line. Apply with a lint-free pad or a pointed swab. Follow with your lash shampoo, rinse, and dry.

- Do I need a lash sealant?

It’s optional. A light, water-based coating can reduce friction from sweat or makeup. If you’re low-maintenance and cleanse daily, you may not notice a huge difference.

- How soon after my appointment can I wash my lashes?

With the adhesives I use, you can do a gentle cleanse after a few hours. Avoid hot steam or sauna on day one. If in doubt, ask me at your appointment and I’ll tailor advice to your set.

- What if I forgot my kit while traveling?

Use lukewarm water and a gentle, oil-free foaming face wash until you can pick up a lash shampoo. Avoid oils and heavy creams near the lash line. Message me a photo of any product label and I’ll advise quickly.
