Open Eye Lash Look in Batumi | Mapping, Curls, Prices

September 13, 2026 · 12 min

If you love the bright, awake, doll-like effect that makes eyes look rounder and more open, you’re looking for the open eye lash look. I create this style every day in my Batumi studio, adapting it to your eye shape, lifestyle (yes, including beach days), and schedule. Here’s exactly how I map, curl, and choose lengths for a true open-eye effect, plus how to pick between classic, 2D, 3D/mega, hybrid, or an LED lash lift - along with clear pricing for Batumi.

What is the open eye lash look?

The open eye look places the visual “peak” of length in the center of the lash line. It lifts the middle of the eyes, making them appear larger and brighter - think rested, doll-like, and photogenic. It differs from cat eye (where the longest lashes are on the outer third) and from a perfect “doll eye” grid (which can look too uniform on some faces). My open eye maps are softer, with a smooth build-up across the middle so it flatters more eye shapes in real life and in photos.

Who suits the open eye look best?

I recommend open eye when you want your gaze to look fresher, more centered, and less heavy. It can be especially flattering for:

  • Almond eyes that need a subtle brightness through the center
  • Close-set eyes (center lift balances the inner corners)
  • Downturned or tired-looking eyes (center lift adds energy)
  • Small or deep-set eyes that benefit from a lighter outer corner

It can also work for round eyes, but I soften the peak and use curl strategically so it doesn’t over-round the shape.

When I adjust or avoid a strong open-eye peak

On very wide-set eyes or very prominent round eyes, I reduce the height of the center peak and sometimes blend slightly toward a soft cat-outside to keep the face balanced. The key is harmony with your brow and cheekbone structure, not a rigid pattern.

My open eye mapping (base plan I customize to you)

Every face is unique, but this is my typical open-eye backbone, then tailored to your lid space, natural lash health, and how you wear makeup:

  • Inner corner: 7–9 mm for comfort and cleanliness
  • Build-up: 9–10–11 mm as we move toward the center
  • Peak at center: 11–12–13 mm (chosen by your lash strength and lid space)
  • Soft taper to outer corner: down 1–2 mm (e.g., to 10–11 mm) so edges don’t drag the eye

On dense natural lashes I can use lighter diameters (0.03–0.07 for volume fans) with a well-placed center peak. On fine lashes I keep fans airy and may shorten the peak for perfect balance and comfort.

Curls that open the eye (and work in Batumi)

Curl shapes change everything, especially in our coastal humidity:

  • C/CC curl: natural to lively lift. Great if you want mascara-like openness.
  • D curl: stronger opening effect and a camera-friendly center peak. Lovely for photos on the boulevard or beach.
  • L or M curl: ideal for straight or slightly hooded lids; they lift from the base without poking the lid.

If you wear glasses, I keep lengths moderate and increase curl (CC/D) so the lashes don’t brush lenses. If you’re heading straight to the beach, we’ll also discuss aftercare to protect the shape.

Classic vs 2D vs 3D vs mega vs hybrid for the open eye

All these sets can be mapped to an open-eye effect. The difference is density and texture:

  • Classic 1:1: one extension per natural lash. Clean, defined, and light. Lovely for a soft open-eye with a center peak that looks like perfect mascara. From 70 GEL. See what’s included in my classic 1:1 extensions.
  • 2D volume: two ultra-light lashes per natural lash. A bit fuller and fluffier; still office-friendly. From 95 GEL. Explore 2D volume lashes.
  • 3D volume: richer density and a bolder open-center highlight. From 110 GEL. For dramatic photos, choose a glossy D curl at the peak. Learn more about 3D volume or mega volume sets.
  • Mega volume: the show-stopper. Feather-light fans create a plush look with a striking center lift that still tapers delicately at the edges. Around 120–130 GEL depending on density.
  • Hybrid: a mix of classic and volume placed thoughtfully. I often use volume fans right at the center peak for brightness, then classics toward the edges for lightness. A beautiful choice if you want texture without full density.

If you’re not sure which to choose, bring a selfie in daylight. I’ll sketch the map, show you curls on a lash wand, and agree on a center peak that suits your routine and eye shape.

LED lash lift for an open-eye vibe without extensions

If you prefer zero maintenance between appointments, the LED lash lift (lamination) is a great option. I set your natural lashes upward (and slightly inward toward the center to mimic the open-eye lift), tint for depth, and nourish with a keratin-like blend. You keep your own lashes, just shaped and darker. From 80 GEL. Read about my LED lash lift (lamination).

Who chooses a lift in Batumi? Swimmers, minimalists, and travelers staying a short time who still want that bright, fresh eye. If your lashes are very straight or point down, the lift can be a game changer for opening the eye without daily curlers or mascara.

Batumi humidity, the Black Sea, and lash retention

Our coast is beautiful - and humid. Humidity can accelerate how lash adhesive sets. In studio, I manage the environment so you get a clean, secure bond. Outside, the sea breeze, sunscreen, and salty splashes can build up on lashes and weigh them down if you don’t rinse.

My simple coastal care tips:

  • Rinse lashes with fresh water after the beach or sweating, then gently cleanse with a lash-safe foam in the evening.
  • Pat dry and fluff with a clean spoolie - don’t leave salt or sunscreen on the lash line.
  • Avoid oil-based creams on the eyelid; keep them to the orbital bone.

New set or refill before busy beach days? Plan your appointment at least a few hours before you head out, and sleep on them once before a full swim day. I’ll give you a quick aftercare card and cleanser tips.

How I choose curls, lengths, and diameters for you

I check five things: natural lash strength, lid space, brow distance, whether you wear glasses, and how you style your makeup. For the open-eye center peak I often combine a stronger curl (CC/D or L/M on straight lashes) with a slightly shorter length than you expect - this keeps the look open without the tips drooping in humidity or hitting lenses. On very fine natural lashes, I keep fans ultra-light so the center lift stays perky and comfortable.

Timing for tourists, expats, and busy weeks

Batumi fills up fast in summer. If you’re a tourist, book your set for day 1–2 of your trip so you enjoy them the whole time. Refill windows are typically 2–3 weeks depending on your natural lash cycle and how much you swim. Short stay? Consider a classic or hybrid open-eye for speed and lightness - or the LED lash lift if you want a totally low-maintenance plan.

Aftercare in Batumi: simple, beach-friendly

Your open-eye mapping will keep its lift best with gentle care:

  • Cleanse lashes daily with a lash-safe foam; rinse after the beach.
  • Brush when dry only, from middle to tips.
  • Sleep on your back or with a soft side pillow to protect the center peak.
  • Avoid oil-heavy products on the lid and lash line.

I explain everything at your appointment and send you a quick guide. If you like to read ahead, here’s my article on aftercare for eyelash extensions.

FAQs

- Is the open eye look the same as doll eye?

They’re close. Doll eye is a very uniform, centered length map; open eye is a softer version that I tailor to your features. I usually blend the peak so it looks bright but not blocky in real life.

- Which set lasts longest at the beach: classic, volume, or lift?

Longevity depends on your natural lash cycle and care. Classic and volume both do well with proper cleansing after saltwater. If you want zero-maintenance between visits, the LED lash lift is the easiest - no fills - just a fresh shape that slowly grows out.

- Can I swim the same day I get extensions?

Plan your swim for later or the next day. A normal day in Batumi is fine after your appointment, but give your new set some time before a long saltwater session. Rinse with fresh water after swimming and cleanse at night.

- I wear glasses - can I still get a strong open-eye effect?

Yes. I increase curl (CC/D or L/M) and keep lengths a touch shorter at the peak so they don’t touch lenses. You’ll still get a bright center without tickling the glass.

- What if my lashes are fine or sparse?

I use light diameters and airy fans, and I may soften the peak by 1 mm. Hybrid or 2D often look amazing - defined but not heavy - so your open-eye shape stays lifted and comfortable.
